Our Story

The meeting of two minds is like contact of two chemical substances, if there is any reaction both are transformed.

Stuart Robertson MSc BSc Physiotherapy, BEd Hons

Stuart is fractionally older than Mark, but you wouldn't think so looking at the photos! In fact, Mark was one of Stuart's pupil's when he first starting teaching in the early eighties. Stuart now works in Victoria Education Centre as their health, wellbeing and mindfulness coordinator. This has involved taking a whole school approach to nurturing and developing student and staff wellbeing. Outside of school hours, he works as a chartered physiotherapist, yoga and mindfulness teacher. His personal journey has seen him embrace the benefits that a mindfulness practice brings. As well as having a passion for helping develop children's resilience, he also sees the need for teaching staff to develop skills for self care.

Mark McCaughan

In his 30 years in education, Mark has been a teacher, a Subject Leader, a Key Stage leader, a Senior Leader, a governor, a Local Authority consultant and a Head Teacher. He has achieved all this despite being taught Rugby by Stuart. Mark has taught through Key Stages 1 – 5 and has survived 3 Outstanding OFSTED inspections. Mark has produced the Thinking Spelling series of resources and his first book, “Igniting Children's Writing”, is being published by Bloomsbury in April 2018. Mark holds his NPQH and is a Leadership Pathways coach. He lives on the Sussex coast and can often be spotted cycling the South Downs, Orienteering or playing cricket.

Mark's chosen charity for 2017-18 is the Children's Respite Trust. (www.crtcharity.org

“No two minds ever come together without, thereby, creating a third, invisible, intangible force which may be likened to a third mind.” Napoleon Hill

Stuart and Mark have always stayed in touch since meeting as student and teacher. The colliding of their two passions has bought an inspirational, transformative and creative energy to their work. Their workshops will be informative, rich in resources, with ideas that are simple to implement, and of course lots of fun.
